#whereswillie IS SMASHING RECORDS AS WE SPEAK!
Willie Richards is no pro-athlete; he is just an ordinary guy who wanted to make an extraordinary difference to the world. For this reason he decided to run and cycle 1700km, from the hot and windy desert of Blouberg Namibia to the stunning coast of Blouberg Cape Town.
Willie started his journey on 13 October 2017 and is currently, ten days later, on the 1000km mark! This means that despite blisters on his behind that caused severe pain, flat tires, thick sand and the scorching sun he is steadily doing 100km a day. This is definitely a first for any South African to ever attempt, not to mention to achieve and we are extremely proud of Willie. We expect Willie to cross the border into South Africa by the 23rd of October.
You may wonder why on earth is Willie doing such an amazing feat; because he wants to save lives. Each cent raised through this GivenGain crowdfunding campaign will go directly towards African Tails, an NPO animal rescue organization that is currently running mass sterilization campaigns in Mamre and desperately needs funding to assist these animals.
Please assist with raising awareness for this amazing campaign and this wonderful thing Willie is doing, not only for the animals, but for their communities and South Africa in general! #proudlysouthafrican! We are expecting that Willie will reach Blouberg in the last days of October 2017. An invite will be sent to all to join the celebrations.
