Projects | Mass Sterilisations

Population Police

On Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 April, the African Tails team descended into the bowels of Joe Slovo, Du Noon and Vissershok to weed out any unsterilised animals and ensure that we keep unwanted dog pup-ulations under control. A total of 86 sterilisations were carried out over the 2 days, as well as 3 acts of kindness and 12 dogs that taken in for rehoming.

All in all, this expedition brought our sterilisation total to just over 1000! Thanks so much to everyone who was involved. Here are some pics from the 2 days…

To date, we have performed/funded numerous mass sterilisation campaigns, carried out by the Animal Rescue Organisation. Through these campaigns, we have successfully sterilised over 1000 dogs, and counting. We'd like to thank Dr Yvonne Robson from Sunnydale Animal Hospital, Dr Reena Cotton from Citi Vet, Dr Duncan Siegfried and Dr Susan Van Niekerk, the Animal Rescue Organisation and African Tails’ generous donors and selfless volunteers.
